“Without community, there is no liberation…but community must not mean a shedding of our differences, nor the pathetic pretense that these differences do not exist.” — Audre Lorde
One Love Sangha (OLS) was created to be a refuge where people who identify as Black, Indigenous, and People of Color and their comrades can come together in support and community of each other and find nourishment and inspiration in the teachings of Buddhism. We come together twice monthly in a community effort to alleviate suffering by exploring the dharma and the intersections of Buddhism and social justice and openly discussing our experiences living and navigating oppressive and biased social structures.
Our sangha is lovingly facilitated by Lissa and guest facilitators who offer guided meditations, dharma reflections, embodied practices, and check ins and group discussions. We hope to provide space for participants to engage in deep listening and to feel free to speak freely from their hearts about their experiences in utilizing Buddhist and mindfulness practices in their life. All those who identify as BIPOC or are comrades engaged in undoing whiteness or racial justice work are welcome. Buddhists and non-Buddhists alike are welcome.
A donation of $10+ is greatly appreciated to help support our facilitators and to pay for rent, zoom, and other fees. Folx are invited to give in proportion to their capacity and ability. A donation can be sent to @embodiedheartmind via venmo or to paypal. Our sangha is freely offered in support of community and each other and no one will be turned away for lack of funds.

A sangha is a community of friends practicing the dharma together in order to bring about and to maintain awareness. The essence of a sangha is awareness, understanding, acceptance, harmony and love… The sangha is a place to practice for the transformation and the healing of self and society. — Thich Nhat Hanh
